WELCOME TO DUANE'S DRAWINGS, ZENTANGLE BLOG.......WHERE ZENTANGLES LIVE...
(only 53 days left until Providence, RI for CZT #28. Can't wait !! :-)
Hey, everybody. How's life treating you on this Monday, beginning of a new week? This being the Monday following Earth....er, or rather, Amanda Day (according to Chewie)...I do kinda like that. Anyway, Laura Harms' Weekly Challenge #313 is related to Amanda Day in that we are to tangle on a recyclable material. I chose the back of a protein bar box that was headed to the recycle bin. I live in Oregon and this state is very proactive when it comes to recycling. The trash company even gives us a large trash bin just for recycling and they collect that bin once every two weeks (gives us plenty of time to fill it up). So here is my tile for this week.....I carved it out of the protein bar box and even rounded the corners to simulate a regular Zentangle tile. (I copied Laura's idea of the protein bar box).

Tangles used here are the border is Noom; lower left half is D'rua, Jetties, and Flower Vine. Upper right half is done in Fussion with some infinity signs thrown in for good measure. |

This is the back of my "tile" that I made. |

I did kind of an extra tile for Earth Day and the tangles used are: Icanthus, Box Spiral, Agua, Blips, and A-Dalpha. I hope everyone likes it. |
It's good to remember that we can tangle on just about anything, Duane. Your tile turned out just as if you had used an official tile. Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteVery nice organic tile Duana, I like the Flower Vine very much!
ReplyDeleteVery nice Duane, hope the foot is feeling better.
ReplyDeleteWell done Duane! Very organic looking tile! Love the little infinity signs! Hope your foot is healing! :)
ReplyDeleteIcanthus is one of my favorite tangles, you have made a nice layering effect by drawing this tangle a bit on the other pattern, that gives more depth, well done Duane.
ReplyDeleteAnother nice tile, Duane. I am always surprised how some tangles get new names, like Box Spiral. I would just look at it as Emingle set free. I love to take grid tangles and just let the loose. Grids are not my favorite since they are restrictive.
ReplyDeleteS'more flavoured protein! It just doesn't get better than that. I love the floating dandelion fluffies especially in the top tile.
ReplyDeleteTerrific second tile Duane! I like your Icanthis. I haven't figured how to draw it in a way I like it. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the Fussion in your 1st tile. Your Icanthis in the second is lovely.
ReplyDeleteDuane, your first Amanda Earth Day tile i great. Wonderful use of tangles. The Fusion reminds me of pollen (I guess that's on my mind right now with all the grass pollen in the air Aaa-aaa-aaa-CHOO! :-D) I like your use of Acanthus on the 2nd tile. I haven't used it yet. I think it's time to get it on a tile. Great inspiration.
ReplyDeleteYour tile is beautiful! Here in the Netherlands we do recycle a lot. We have four bins now: one for organic waste, one for plastic and cans, one for paper and the last one for 'rest' waste.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty tangling on the protein bar box!
ReplyDeleteHi Duane, I'm a bit late going through the Diva responses this week - been away to sunnier climes for some r&r. Funnily enough, I've been using Noom and Adalfa too. Both fairly new to me and good fun. I like the way you used them and I really like your Diva tile. I was sorry to read about your broken foot, hope it's healing well.
