WELCOME TO DUANE'S DRAWINGS, ZENTANGLE BLOG.......WHERE ZENTANGLES LIVE...
(only 46 days left until Providence, RI for CZT #28. Can't wait !! :-)
Today is the Diva Challenge #314 and it is a UMT day. We are using Sarah Uram's tangle called "Scallamps" as our focus tangle. This is my version of her tangle:
There are only two tangles here, Scallamps and the background is Blocked.
By the way: as an update on my sprained ankle....I am out of the walking boot, brace they gave me and I am walking around a bit more but the ankle is still way sore and quite weak but I manage with my cane...I will be ready for Providence next month (that sounds really cool...now I can say next month since it is May 1st.)

Great Scallamp Duane! I'm excited for you and Providence! I've been house sitting for a friend all winter and have just decided to put it towards a CZT training fund! Might be a few years, but I'll get there! So glad you're ankle is getting better! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Deanne, I am excited too !!!
DeleteNice shading on the Scallamp.
ReplyDeleteNice choice of background behind Scallamps! Take care with your ankle...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ilse. Always appreciate your comments.
DeleteDid you see the pictures of the seminars at the Biltmore???? It seems fantastic, I hope you will have a good time and please take care of your ankle... only a few weeks left.
ReplyDeleteA pattern, drawn on a background of others tangles is always nice to receive 3D effects, well done Duane and nice shading on the scallamp
Thanks, Ria. Yes, I saw those pictures...I am getting so excited to be going there. Very classy, isn't it?
DeleteHow nice this turned out, Duane. I'm glad you are on the mend. What fun you are going to have!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful done, both patterns.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carmela. Nice to see you again, and I do appreciate your comments.
DeleteI really like your tile Duane. I'm trying for the simple effect. Nice to see yours. I'm so excited for you to be going to Providence. What fun. I'm sure we'll hear all about it. :-D Are you having hot weather up there in Oregon like we are here in Northern California? Gads! It got to 95 here and I'm in Sonoma County. Thank goodness it will be cooling off for the next few days. I can hardly even tangle when it's this hot so fast after being so cool just last week. Anyway, have great week!
ReplyDeleteMelena, thanks for your comments. No, it's been very cool here in the 40's and 50's, BUT forcast for tomorrow is 80...where is this coming from? It's May not August!!! The weather in the last decade has been getting crazier and crazier each year.
DeleteI know what you mean about the crazy weather. I think the heat is moving from the south northward. It's hot again today but tomorrow is supposed to be much cooler here. Who knows? I sure don't. But we will just keep tangling! :-D
DeleteI love your tile, just those two tangles turned out beautiful. Glad you ankle is a bit better now and will be much better for your trip to Providence.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Anne, I do appreciate your words of encouragement.
DeleteThanks for trying my tangle! I love what you did and the tangle in the background is a perfect way to balance the tile!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sarah. You being the author of this tangle really makes it special to have great comments from you. I have learned a few things to do your tangle differently when I do it again. This is what I like about this forum, I can see what others are doing and see what makes a difference and learn from it. Zentangle is a great art form and community.
DeleteBeautiful Scallamp with wonderful background!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Anja.
DeleteHow fun to do Scallamps in 3Z. a real hero of the tile!
ReplyDeleteAwwww Shucks, Lorna. Twern't nuthun'. Nobody called me a hero before.
DeleteGlad the ankle is dong better, it will make your CZT training so much easier. Lovely Scallamps tile too!
ReplyDeleteInteresting tangle in the background. It's always for me a difficult choice! I wish you a good recovery for your ankle!
