WELCOME TO DUANE'S DRAWINGS, ZENTANGLE BLOG.......WHERE ZENTANGLES LIVE...
(only 37 days left until Providence, RI for CZT #28. Can't wait !! :-)
I have not been able to get this week's Diva Challenge done because I am too busy playing nurse for my wife. About the time that my ankle started getting better, she took a fall at home and fell against the wall while trying to walk and broke her elbow. She actually broke a bone in her elbow....most painful !!! I had to take her to the hospital where they X-rayed and found the round bone on her joint had shattered and they had to operate to put the pieces back in place and put in two titanium screws to hold everything together. True, this is her elbow and not her leg or something but she still has a hard time getting around and not able to do anything really. Her arm from shoulder to hand is in a splint and cast and all that is in a sling. She is rather immobile from the pain and discomfort. Doctor has her on medicine for the pain but still there is some. I have to keep her on track for pain meds every four hours (and I mean EVERY), so, I don't get a lot of sleep....mostly when she sleeps I get to sleep and then up with the alarm to give her medicine and help her move around the house. I am learning a little bit what a mother goes through to keep her children healthy. I know it isn't the same and I am not being exposed to it all but I am learning a small portion of it.
See you all next week.

That's rough on both of you. I hope your wife's elbow mends quickly, or at the very least that the pain reduces very soon. Smart move, grabbing sleep when you can. Remember to take care of yourself too so that you can be on the ball for your wife. Thinking of you both this week.
ReplyDeleteTo take care of each other is more important than to deliver a tile every week. I wish you and your wife a quick recovery. There will be time enough to join more challenges in the future.
ReplyDeleteYesterday I had an operation on my knee (meniscus) and me too don' feel happy at the moment, it is better to take a few days rest at the moment, next week, everthing will be better...
So sorry to hear about the injuries. Take care of yourself too, as it's not long until CZT training! Good luck.
ReplyDeletePoor wife, poor two of you! Take care of her and yourself!!!!
